Weyerhaeuser, BC Coastal Internet

Introduction
BC Coastal Timberlands has operations that span the West Coast of Canada, including a combination of public and private land on Vancouver Island, the Queen Charlotte Islands and the BC mainland.
Overview
Before BC Coastal Timberlands became a division of Weyerhaeuser it was known as MacMillan Bloedel Ltd. Shortly after being purchased by Weyerhaeuser, BC Coastal Timberlands required a Web presence that described their operation. The site had to conform to Weyerhaeuser’s brand and tie into the larger Weyerhaeuser.com site.
Methods Used
Cascading Style Sheets and HTML were employed to create the page layout. The site is optimized for 640 x 480 display and is designed for universal access. Ease of navigation and a clutter free layout were most important to Weyerhaeuser. JavaScript and custom map imagery were used in the creation of the “Operations Map” area.
Results
BC Coastal Timberlands and Weyerhaeuser were both happy with the resulting Web site. Weyerhaeuser implemented the site into Weyerhaeuser.com seamlessly and BC Coastal Timberlands has a Web site that tells their story--not only to the general public but their existing customers as well.
